The purpose of the JROTC is to instill in Cadets the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and a sense of accomplishment.

GOALS

1. Promote habits of orderliness and precision.

2. Develop personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership.

3. Foster respect or the need for constituted authority in a democratic society.

MISSION STATEMENT

To teach, coach, and mentor all Cadets regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, religious beliefs, or background. All Cadets will become the better version of themselves in harmony with honor, courage, and commitment.


Join a Team and represent Lake Howell in various competitions across Florida and the Nation.

Marksmanship: The Navy JROTC partners with the Civilian Marksmanship Program to properly train Cadets to hit the target on paper and in life. All precautions are taken to create a safe training environment. Competition will lead to various scholarship opportunities for top universities and colleges.

Unmanned Aviation (Drone Pilots): In partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Navy JROTC offers education in unmanned aviation systems. Upon completion of AS 120 & AS 220, Cadets will earn 6 college credits, industry certification through the Unmanned Safety Institute, and the opportunity to earn an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

Leading and Managing: Throughout the four-year JROTC involvement, Cadets will be assigned to various departments and will be the driving force behind the Unit’s success. Cadets will learn to work and manage areas of a department to include administration, logistics, public affairs, and other real-world activities. In addition, Cadets will ascend in rank and will develop invaluable leadership skills through leading subordinate Cadets.

Community InvolvementLastly, Silverhawk Cadets are involved in various events throughout the community. Silverhawk Battalion is the prime JROTC in the area selected to present the National Colors and display honors for various organizations.
